A couple weeks back I was the delighted winner of a wonderful giveaway celebrating Pat Taylor's tenth year of blogging at Thoughts from Taylorsoutback. And a few days ago a little package arrived in our mailbox. Isn't this the most adorable mini quilt!
Sorry about the shadow in the upper portion of the photo. That sweet pincushion accompanied the little quilt on its journey and now resides next to my Singer 201, the machine I generally use for piecing my quilts. I just love these cute little conversation prints in some of the quilt squares, so diminutive and sweet. Thanks so much Pat!
Next up is my mini for July. The hand quilting was finished early in the month and binding recently completed.
The quilting shows a little better in this photo of the back.
The front was made up of another quilter's excess or rejected triangle squares, still attached to their triangle papers, the border and sashings from small pieces in my stash. The back is part of the excess from a piece of wide backing fabric purchased for the Sherbet Jumble quilt, along with a frankenbatting pieced from several leftover pieces. Gotta love make-do!
I'll link up with Wendy at The Constant Quilter when she posts her end of the month mini linkup later this week. Til then, happy quilting and harvesting!

I love how you put those triangles together for your mini! That is really sweet!
Sweet little minis. The quilting looks great on the second one. My bean plants are climbing their poles, but so far, I don’t see any beans. Hoping they’ll appear pretty soon.
Oh what a perfect mini for July! I've seen that pattern and I think it was called Fire Cracker. I love it! I love the little quilt Pat sent too. I can never get enough of those conversational prints. I will link you in on the 31st. Thanks for another great mini!
Great win...very cute. Great finish too. The colors are so soft and inviting. We make do...because there is nothing else to do! lol. Did we think this year would be so long and home bound? Prepping produce keeps me busy and learned to dry excess spinach and herbs in the oven!
Two awesome minis for July. What a special treat to receive Pat's little give away quilt. It's so cute. And your "make do" quilt is delightful. I continue to love the lay out of those hst's.
Both little quilts are very pretty. I love the layout and colors in your July finish! Your quilting on it is outstanding. ---"Love"
Your new mini is so sweet. And winning that little quilt is a real bonus - lucky you. I have mixed feelings about this time of year and the garden. I love the fresh produce (especially the tomatoes) but I drag my feet at all the canning, freezing, pickling, and sometimes drying. I do love looking at the full shelves in my fruit room come September. It's all good.
Your July mini is so dear - the soft colors of a summer’s day! And lovely vintage dresser it is displayed on.
Your make-do mini is so pretty and the quilting is fabulous! How nice to win the other pretty mini too! Lots of interesting fabrics in that one.
I was thrilled (and jealous) to see you had won that quilt from "the other Pat". :) It is a little beauty.
Oh, your monthly mini makes my heart sing. I had saved that design recently, determined to make it myself. Now I am even more determined. Your "make do" finish looks as planned and intentional as can be. I absolutely love it!
Ingenious use of left-over triangles and the border fabric is yummy!
So glad you were the winner of Pat's little quilt. It is just the sweetest! Your make-do July mini really turned out great and your hand-quilting is the finishing touch :)
A pair of precious mini quilts! What more could one ask for, except cooler weather here in the States! Over 100 here today and tomorrow.
It has been very hot and humid here too. Thankfully not over 100 here though! Thanks for your kind words about the mini.
I adore both of your little quilts, Pat! Especially the first one, so charming with the little fussy cut motifs, and I love those browns. The second one shows a new (to me) way to arrange triangle squares, and the effect is evocative of a candy cane! Great work this month, and always.
Both little quilts are just perfect! The patterns and fabrics couldn't be more ideal. I hardly ever see conversationals in quilt shops any more. I still have pieces of a few that I have used sparingly so they will last longer.
So nice! Congratulations on the win of the mini. It really suits you and your style. Great work on putting together all the parts and bits to make your July mini. I admire you for taking the time to hand quilt. From the back, it looks really good.
Both are lovely little minis. The colors are just great in both too.
