Finishing the applique work on the five 15-inch blocks in the Autumn Leaves quilt. I'm not terribly fond of machine applique but my needle-turn skills still aren't sufficient to have hand appliqued those tight curves on the oak leaves successfully. Where was that new Crafted Applique book when I really needed it, about six months ago?!
Finding a message in your inbox saying you've actually won a lovely giveaway! More on this when it arrives in a few days.

Beautiful autumn leaf block! Lots of grand news for you....congrats!
And yes, hope to try the next technique soon and know I will love it.
Love that circle. I am the same way with applique, but will forever use the Crafted Applique technique. Your leaves look perfect in the photo.
Oh my! You are filled to the brim with good news, aren't you? How wonderful!!! There can't be much better news than a new grandbaby - congrats! And it is always exciting to see a project moving along and getting close to being finished. And yes, I consider half-way done as "close to being finished" LOL!!! Love your little cat fabric for the milestone circle!
That is a very cute circle! : )
I love all thing Fall, so the applique block speaks to me.
Congrats on the good news of a new little one to come! Nothing better.
Winning a giveaway is pretty nice, too.
Well, I love your new block. Of course, the kitties appeal to me.
What wonderful colors on your applique blocks. We just have to do, what we have to do, when it comes to sewing. It's a great block. Congrats on a new baby!
WooHoo, half-way there! I just looked for that date myself, I am a few Weeks away.
Such great news! I have news of two new Grandnieces, or nephews, something in the air haha.
Congratulations on a new grandbaby coming! Yes, halfway done is just about done ... certainly is in my world, that's for sure. I can't wait to hear more about your giveaway win.
Your "half way" circle just makes me smile, it has such great colors. Now I see what you meant about the applique blocks you were making, Lara's method would have come in handy for them :) Yay! new baby, congratulations!
Congrats on reaching your halfway mark. I love the cat fabric of the circle.
Grandbabies and nieces and nephews are a special treat (you can give them back- ha ha)
I love that "you won" email - it is always a thrill.
Just gotta love those new grandbabies...congrats. Love the block.
Love your autumn leaves block. I'm with you when it comes to needle turn. I would never be able to hand appliqué those leaves (or is it leafs?). Some hand appliqué is fine, but when it comes to curves like that, forget it.
So much good news. Congratulations on all. I think your soliloquy looks fine but Lara's new book would have made it easier. Oh, well. Next time.
